RCN Implementing Teaching Pyramid
We were very excited to welcome Dr. Rob Corso, Executive Director of The Pyramid Model Consortium, to conduct an online training on Friday, June 26th at RCN and to welcome him to Rochester, NY for a special in person training of the Pyramid Model on August 24th and 25th.
This exciting professional development session kicks off our training for a new school year, but RCN staff have been participating in monthly professional development training since September 2014 to learn how they can integrate methods from the Pyramid Model into their classrooms and services throughout the organization. This evidence based system relies on the reinforcement of positive behavior in infants and young children rather than reacting to problematic behaviors. This Pyramid Model has the full support of our professional early childhood education staff.
Even with this great program, we still need the support of RCN families make the Pyramid Model a success. That’s why we’re continuing our Family Academy series this fall. Our families can be partners in reinforcing positive behaviors both in and outside the classroom to help our children build the social and emotional skills they need to be a success.
Our first skill building Family Academy of the new year will be the evening of September 30th. The class is open to the public. Childcare (for your own children) and dinner are provided for the evening. Registration is required 1 week prior. Keep checking back here at rcn4kids.org for class topics and updates.
