Family Child Care (FCC)

The Family Child Care staff here at RCN supports in-home-based Child Care providers who serve children 6 weeks to 12 years of age. Licensed and registered homes affiliated with us are regulated by the NYS Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS). RCN is a sponsor of CACFP and it is offered to all eligible in-home child care providers.

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) is a federal program that provides reimbursements for nutritious meals and snacks to eligible children and adults who are enrolled for care at participating child care centers, daycare homes, and adult daycare centers. CACFP contributes to the wellness, healthy growth, and development of young children and adults in the United States.

A family or group day care home must sign an agreement with a Householding organization to participate in CACFP. Daycare homes must be licensed or approved to provide daycare services. Reimbursement for meals served in daycare homes is based upon eligibility for tier I rates (which target higher levels of reimbursement to low-income areas, providers, or children) or lower tier II rates.
