White Spruce

Picea glauca

Quick Facts: Evergreen conifer, native to northern North America. Can grow 40–60 feet tall. Blue-green needles, cones are slender and tan.

Why It’s Special: White Spruce is one of the most important forest trees in Canada, providing habitat for wildlife and wood for lumber.

Fun Fact for Kids: White Spruce needles smell a little bit like skunk if you crush them!
